Bike Skills and More - Pushing Down with Your Whole Self (The Glute/Cheek Lesson)

Power to the pedal, or foot peg, or swing. This lesson gets even deeper into the connection of foot, ‘cheek'“ and torso to keep you on center while getting full power from your big, strong glutes to the ground and back.

Have a small towel or firm pad on hand for this one. You will be using the prop to sense shifting weight onto one sitz bone. The little lift helps you feel how your whole body can assist in shifting weight, from the opposite foot pressing down, to your ribs moving like an accordion to help you hold center even as you power into the pedal.

Imagine that road unwinding before you, settle into the seat, and get ready to ride with less effort as you use your whole body to GO.

ASPNC bikers take to the road legs strong. This lesson is about powering the legs from the hips and those nice big glutes.

The focus of this lesson was biking, but the skill applies to kayaking, parallel parking, disk tossing, yoga twists, reaching. Just about anything, really.
