Saturday, April 25, 10:00-1:00 | Barnet Tradepost Wellness Center | 64 Monument Cir, Barnet, VT 05821

Deborah Bowes, PT, DPT, GCFP, developed Pelvic Health and Awareness after the birth of her two daughters left her without bladder control. Combining her experience as Feldenkrais teacher, her work in anatomy and physiology, and training as a Physical Therapist, she created this program to help students experience pelvic floor awareness.

The pelvic floor.: so important for vitality and well-being after injury, surgery, or pregnancy. Pelvic floor awareness assists in developing better balance, easier breathing, more comfortable sitting, standing or walking, improved sports and artistic performance.

Do you know your pelvic floor? Did you know that the pelvic floor is more than just the muscles attached to the base of the pelvis? In fact, the pelvis, the heaviest bone in the body, and the glutes, the biggest muscles, are part of a whole body system. This system includes the muscles of the inner legs and the abs. And the round muscles that pierce the pelvic floor muscles: the anus, the ureter and the vagina. And holding it all together is the diaphragm that presses down into the pelvis and releases with every breath.

This introductory workshop is a tour of a the pelvic floor system. Learn simple exercises to practice at home. Experience how your balance, continence, and posture can improve with pelvic floor awareness.

Jacki Katzman, Guild Certified Feldenkrais Teacher®, has been a pelvic floor tour guide for five years. She tailors workshops to students’ interests, from managing continence to breaking through performance plateaus. Questions: jacki@movementmentor.me
